My name is Caitriona Moran, pronounced "Ka-Tree-na," like the devastating hurricane. It's Gaelic (which explains the random extra letters). My dad immigrated from Ireland in his twenties for his medical school training. He never planned on staying in the United States, but he met my Mom, and the rest is history.
I am from Portland, Maine which, latitudinally, is within a few degrees of Ireland. Its deep greens and sea-blasted coastline are positively Celtic. According to friends and family, that I chose the creative aspect of my career is no surprise, and that choosing to pursue my love of fashion is an even lesser surprise. Since high school, fashion and arts have always been important parts of my life. I find art the best way to express how I am feeling inside. Fashion, on the other hand, is a beautiful way to break boundaries and show the world who you are as an individual.
I've always known that I don't want a job that is stagnant. I want a work life that is fast-paced and challenging, that bends my mind in unexpected ways, combining my artistic instincts with my intellect. I find that I thrive in environments that embrace the unordinary and urge individuals to think outside the box.
